(On the Bebop)
Dec. 23rd, 2004 02:09 pmHe could just stay here. He could. Really. Beth is here, she's warm, she's sleeping so comfortably.
But that door keeps staring at him. And what's inside there gnaws at him.
So while Beth sleeps he slides out of bed, careful not to disturb her, and opens the closet door.
Face to face with your own fears, huh. I used to have no fear of death, none at all. Live like you have nothing to lose, that's what we were taught. But now there's something to lose. Something big to lose and it has nothing to do with Vicious or Julia or the Syndicate or any of that shit. It's bigger and it's more important and there's more at stake. It's not just Beth. She's part of it, but it goes beyond her.
He reaches forward and takes the coat off the hanger and holds it in his hands and just stares at it.
