Going Back
Jun. 22nd, 2005 05:36 pmIt looks like it did the other day. Pretty much exactly the same, except they're walking the opposite direction. It's not like leaving a planet or moon has ever filled him with regret or anything, and he knows it's not time to go quite yet, but as they make their way to the Swordfish to stow all the shit they bought, and all the groceries for the Bebop, Spike feels a small twinge of something.
This has been a hell of a special trip.
It's not over yet.
After securing everything and with hands free, they make their way over to a place where a sign offers See Venus from the air! Tours daily. Every hour on the hour during daylight hours, check here for availability!
And so they do. It's not like they have a flight to catch at a specific time: they just have to be out with the Swordfish by around 4 local time. And considering the morning they had and how early it started and how relaxed and relaxing it was, and how fucking great Beth was and is... Spike takes her hand in his (yeah, like some honeymoon couple) and they peruse the maps and decide on a tour. It starts out over Galileo City and buzzes the gardens, but it also goes out over the desert and the lake, and there's a good view of the mountains in the distance from up there.
Sounds good to him.
The little ships that take them there look almost like jet-propelled buses, so they take a seat with a good view to both sides. It's not real busy, just a couple other people, and before they know it they're off. Up, up from one of the docking bays into the midday air, Beth nestled against him, and he thinks damn, playing tourist is fun.
He looks at her: she's kind of beaming.
