Jun. 11th, 2006 09:31 pmClosing the door behind him, Spike holds out his hand: one adjustable wrench, one screwdriver with both Phillips and flat heads on it. He's pretty damn handy, actually, and good with his hands -- Beth knows that -- but it's the concept of putting this thing together that has him a little curious.
After all, he's never put together anything for a baby before. And this isn't just any baby: this is Beth's baby, and if he doesn't do a damn good job assembling this thing, he'll never forgive himself. But he's a smart guy and as long as the instructions are in one of the languages he can actually read, he'll figure it out.
"Got them, Slim. Ready?"
One thing's for damn sure: this is an adventure of a kind he's never had before. Probably never will again: might as well have fun with it. He looks at the box laid out on the bed, shrugs, and opens it.
