Knowing exactly what he wants and getting it are two different things sometimes; he doesn't want to be pushy and he doesn't want Beth to think he's making all the rules here. But still, there's something very specific that will make him not only the most wanted guy in the universe, but the happiest, too.

Fuck it: sometimes, a guy's got to grab the brass ring all by himself and so he does and it's simple: he directs her hand to the back of his neck, a little higher. She's the only one who gets to play with his hair.

Closing his eyes, he smiles. The way Beth's hands feel on him is better than almost anything. Her playing with his hair might not seem like much, but for a guy who grew up resenting being touched, it's a hell of a big thing. And because he loves her and because he trusts her absolutely, he melts into her, the movie forgotten in its entirety. Now it's just lighting effects, barely noticeable through his eyelids.

He could almost purr.
