When he first opens his eyes he can't remember where he is, but it's just because of the dream.

Same dream as usual: Swordfish II breaking apart in some planet's atmosphere, its heat shields destroyed. Nowhere to go, nothing to do but die.

It's not a nightmare, though. It's a dream he only started having since he got to Milliways and in it he's not panicked, he's resigned. He's not afraid, he's indifferent. He's not worried, he's fatalistic. It's what it is and if it's his time, who says burning to a crisp in a plane reentry accident is such a bad way to go?

But he blinks heavily; it's just the dream. Curious, he started having the dream before he met Beth, plane-crash survivor. Before Elaine started talking about the pilot in The Little Prince. Must be trying to tell him something but... now's not the time to figure it out. Definitely not the time.

Definitely.

(grin)

Someone's snuggling. Someone's sleeping warm and happy and content curled up all over him.

He likes waking up this way.

Beth's so unconcerned when she sleeps. Innocent.
